Ciclismo Giro d’Italia 2011: elenco iscritti alla competizione

Non è ancora una lista definitiva, dato che è modificabile fino ad 1 settimana dall’inizio della manifestazione.
Il Giro d’Italia 2011, comunque, comincia ad avere i primi nomi dei corridori in gara.
Tra i big che vedremo all’opera dal prossimo 7 maggio dalla Reggia di Venaria Reale a Torino, figurano i nomi di Denis Menchov, Carlos Sastre, Mark Cavendish, Vincenzo Nibali, Alberto Contador, Alessandro Ballan, Alessandro Petacchi e Stefano Garzelli, con quest’ultimo che correrà col numero 1.
Ufficiale la rinuncia di Ivan Basso: “Purtroppo la condizione atletica, in questo momento, non mi consentirebbe di affrontarlo come merita. Nei piani di inizio stagione c’era l’idea di correre il Giro prima del Tour de France con l’obiettivo di affiancare e supportare Vincenzo Nibali nella sua caccia alla maglia rosa. Fino all’ultimo ho cercato quelle sensazioni in sella che potessero confortarmi e darmi fiducia: purtroppo non sono arrivate. Di concerto con la squadra abbiamo preso dunque questa dolorosa decisione”.
Il Giro d’Italia 2011 si concluderà il 29 maggio prossimo.
